The 2021 Vintage season is in the books for Wynnfurst Racing. Jeff, Ron and John all competed in the VSCDA Elkhart Lake Fall Vintage Festival at Road America this past weekend. For this event Jeff was in the BSR class and Ron and John in the CSR class. All three in their Kohler liveried, Kohler Powered Lola entries.
The ELF event features a Saturday Sprint Race and a Sunday Feature Race. In Saturday's Sprint Race, Ron led the Wynnfurst pack with a 2nd place finish in the CSR class. John brought home a 3rd place finish in the CSR class. A cracked water hose made for a tough race for Jeff and unfortunately, relegated him to a 5th place finish in the BSR class.
With an opportunity to make improvements on Ron and John's car and a new water line and fresh engine in Jeff's car, the team was set to race again on Sunday. Jeff started fourth and on the first lap was able to jump to the lead and never looked back. It was a first overall for Jeff, followed by John with a 2nd in the CSR class and Ron with a 3rd place finish in the CSR class.
It was another strong weekend for Wynnfurst Racing and a great way to round out the vintage car season for the team. Next up is the SCCA National Championship Runoffs for Jason Miller in his #8 Kohler Powered Prototype 1 entry. This years Runoffs will be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway September 27 - October 3.
